Kyotmunga Estate:
Our small, family-operated vineyard was planted in 1997 and we produced our first vintage in 2000. All our grapes are hand-picked and since 2003, we have been making our wine on site.

Our signature wine is Shiraz but we also have Grenache, Barbera, Chenin Blanc and Taminga (a hybrid variety developed by the CSIRO for warm climate growing conditions). Our Shiraz/ Grenache port is also very popular.

We also operate the cellar door ourselves and can offer visitors a special experience as we are happy to discuss the process of grape growing and wine production. Not only can we provide you with that little extra attention but customers can also sample our own extra virgin olive oil, dukkah and olives.

Western Range:
Western Range Wines first production was vintage 2001 and in the first year produced gold medal winning wines taking gold in 2002 with the 2001 Shiraz at both the Burswood Royal Perth Show and the Vizyboard Great Australian Classics.

We continued on our Gold Medal winning ways in subsequent years for very many of our products. Last year our Julimar 03 Shiraz/ Viognier took out four trophies, and five gold medals: The Julimar 04 Viognier took out two silver and our Goyamin Pool 02 Cabernet/ Malbec took out Gold at the Sydney Intenational and was named as an Australian Emerging Classic.

Our Aim is to provide people who enjoy wine with real value. To achieve this we consistently produce wines that over deliver quality for price. By this we mean that we constantly produce wines of extra depth and elegance through varied fruit harvesting and innovative wine making techniques, designed to maximize the impact of the primary fruit flavors. We are currently exporting to France, UK, Russia, Japan, Brazil, Sweden, Poland and USA as well as marketing to the Eastern States of Australia.

White Dog Farm:
When planting our cabernet sauvignon and merlot vines almost 10 years ago, our aim was to produce a quality wine that would compliment our fellow wine producers in the Chittering Valley.  In 2005 our first vintage saw the birth of our signature wine, a dry, palest of pink bubbly made in traditional champagne style.

White Dog Farm cellar door opened in April 2007 and we now offer exclusive tastings and purchase from our cellar door of the following wines:

Methodé Traditionalle
The result of a minimum 18 months on lees prior to disgorgement, this palest of pink bubbly displays very fine beads, exhibits aromas of fresh morning brioche with a hint of delicate berries and dry finish on the palate.

Cabernet Merlot
Dark cherry in colour the palate exhibits ripe dense berry fruit with soft earthy aromas and subtle oak and finishes with a supple tannin finish.

Z Light Red
Named after the new “white” dog, Z light red is deep plum in colour, exhibits a bouquet of fresh berries and is velvety on the palate with a dry savoury finish.  Best enjoyed at room temperature, but can be slightly chilled to enjoy during the warmer months.

Stringybark Winery & Restaurant:
The STRINGYBARK vineyard is one of the oldest in the Chittering Valley and produces a very limited quantity of hand picked Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Verdelho grapes each year.

This limited production combined with the special regional characteristics of the Chittering Valley helps to produce wines with real fruit intensity and distinctive varietal character.

2005 CHARDONNAY (2005 White Wine of the Year – Perth Hills TROPHY WINNER)
An exceptional Chittering Valley unoaked Chardonnay with a lovely “nose” and highly developed fruit intensity.

2007 STRINGYBARK CHARDONNAY Medallist at 2008 Perth Hills Wine Show
This lovely unwooded wine has delicious fruit flavours ranging from ripe stone fruit to hints of tropical fruit. A little bottle age has now helped this wine to develop even more complexity and is now drinking beautifully.

2008 ROSE OF STRINGYBARK Medallist at 2008 Perth Hills Wine Show
A blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes made in a Rose style has resulted in a delicious fruit driven wine displaying redcurrant and strawberry aromas with a very well balanced dryish finish. Served slightly chilled.

2008 STRINGYBARK CABERNET/SHIRAZ
Oodles of lush ripe warm fruit flavours including rich yet soft blackcurrant and savoury plum and a soft fleshy palate. Fermented in quality French Oak barrels.

Briery Estate:
We are also growing unusual and old style varieties which we hope will produce a niche market for Noble, sweet and aromatic wines similar to the great wines of Europe. Hence our new plantings of Hungarian grape varieties of Harsevalu and Furmint are now producing a Tokay style after dinner liqueur called Tokaj. The flavour has light apricot overtones with good fruit character.

Our popular Briers Musc made from 70 year old vines has rewarded us with Gold Silver and Bronze medals plus the Qantas award 3 years running from Mount Barker. We have also been awarded medals for our Verdelho, Cabernet Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Shiraz Merlot, and Port.

Most recently at the Perth Hills Wine Show we were awarded Bronze Medal for our 2004 Muscat Liqueur, 2004 Cabernet Shiraz Merlot and Silver Medal for 1996 Muscat Liqueur.

We endeavor to minimise our spray program with the last spray being at flowering time. We also are of the view that un-irrigated vines produce more flavour as our motto is quality not quantity.

Why don’t you come up and see us sometime!

Riseborough Estate:
The Riseborough vineyard is a spacious winery built on a hilltop with a cellar door that offers spectacular views across the valleys of Gingin. The grounds include twenty acres of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Grenache and Pinot Noir.

- First vines planted 1998.
- First vintage - 2002.

Riseborough Shiraz 2002 ****
Very attractive wine with good concentration of classic fruit and oak characters. The palate is fresh, lively and long, with a hint of grippy tannins on the finish.
Riseborough Shiraz 2002 in TOP 40 BEST BUYS - under $15 bottle

Riseborough Rose 2004 ****
Fresh, fragrant aromas of cherries. Good fruit on the long, lingering palate is balanced by some sweetness and nice crisp acid.

Jylland Vineyard:
At Jylland we cultivate grape varieties that are best suited to our Mediterranean maritime climate. Chenin Blanc is the local king. The wine is crisp, zesty and a delightful complement to any food or occasion.

Another favourite is our beautiful Verdelho – a lovely warm climate variety with the famous marri blossom honey tones of the region.

Our 2004 and 2005 Chardonnay vintages have been lightly wooded using central European oak. Although initially tentative about ‘wooded white’ we are very happy with the results. The delightful smoky vanilla tones have really lifted the Chardonnay into the ‘interesting and compelling’ classification.

The reds are blends of old favourites with lesser common varieties. We grow Shiraz, Carnelian and Cabernet Sauvignon and buy in regional blending varieties such as Tempranillo, Merlot, Grenache to make our popular JRB. Our reds - both varietals and blends - are robust with full fruit, berry and spice intensity.
